The Ranch

Double K Ranch, a thousand acre spread, was founded in 1979. We started a breeding operation for performance Quarter Horses in 1988 with AQHA Champion Sonny Go Royal and, in 1991, added World Champion and two-time Congress Winner Doc O Mos. Both stallions have since passed away. The ranch focused mostly on Western Pleasure and all-around show prospects, as well as Reining. Within five years of the program's initiation, the ranch became a "Top 10" leading AQHA breeder of Most Performance Show Winners, a record that was earned for 13 continuous years. In 1998 and 1999, Double K Ranch's small program was the worldwide #1 leading breeder of Most Performance Class Winners. After raising 500 foals and our stallions' outstanding contribution to the Quarter Horse industry in the U.S. and abroad, we have now retired our horse program. Offspring from our ranch has earned almost 11,000 AQHA points and continues to provide pride, joy and success to hundreds of owners and show competitors nationwide. We are proud of what our customers have accomplished with their Double K Ranch bred horses and wish them continued success in the show ring and with their breeding programs. Today the ranch is involved in hay production, forestry, development of wildlife recreational opportunities, as well as home to a commercial cow and calf herd and an English Riding Stable. Double K Ranch is operated by owners Ralf and Christel Kuehnhoefer. We are located just north of Longview, approximately two hours east of Dallas, Texas. |
